The image you see above is called “The Embodiment of Gluttony.” It’s disturbing, grotesque, and uncomfortably honest. But before you cringe too hard, take a moment and think about this: how many of the loudest, most judgmental voices in modern Christianity do you think resemble this in God’s eyes?

I’ve spent a lifetime watching people get driven away from church—not by God’s standards, but by man’s hypocrisy. We hear endless lectures about “sin” aimed at the LGBTQ+ community. Convicts are told their past defines them. Addicts are seen as broken, unfixable failures. And yet, often, those doing the finger-pointing are carrying around their own silent chains—chains of addiction to food, comfort, and excess.

Gluttony is a sin that rarely gets preached from the pulpit. Why? Because it’s too close to home. It’s easier to spotlight someone else’s struggle while ignoring the one staring back in the mirror. Jesus said in Matthew 7:5, “You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Sin isn’t a ranking system—it’s a condition of the heart.

The harsh reality is this: Christians are sometimes the best at pushing people away from Christ. And yet, the very people being rejected—those who’ve lived through the brutal trenches of addiction, prison, identity struggles—are often the ones closest to understanding grace. You know what it means to be broken. You’ve tasted rejection. You’ve walked through darkness. And that’s why God’s light shines so brilliantly when it touches your life.

Thicker Than Water Ministries was born to tear down these religious barriers. This is a place where you’re not defined by your past, your labels, or the scars others try to stick on you. Here, you are family. Here, you will find love, not judgment; teaching, not condemnation; purpose, not rejection.

Romans 5:8 reminds us, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Did you catch that? While we were still sinners. Not after we got cleaned up. Not after we “fixed” ourselves. While we were still a mess.

So don’t let the hypocrites scare you away from the One who already knows your story and loves you completely. Their opinion does not get the final word in your life. God’s grace is bigger than their pride. His love is louder than their criticism.

The doors of Thicker Than Water Ministries are open. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be willing.

Come as you are.

I didn't realize how long it has been since I wrote an entry on here...
We are FINALLY experiencing some restoration and making progress financially. I had to start the process over, but recently re-earned my CDCA. The children are doing well. The boys continue to thrive in therapy but progress is slow towards healing from their trauma. Their parents were released recently on a technicality and so we are dealing with things today we thought we would be better prepared for. There is no difdference between 2028 and tomorrow for God...it is his battle. If you have not seen it, I had the chance to tell my story on the "Get A Grip Podcast". Here is a link to it...
October 24th 2023

We were awarded full custody of the children on February 23rd of this year. We consider this a beautiful ending to a very ugly story. Our resources have completely dwindled, and I am looking for the right job opportunity to go back to work. The boys are doing wonderful in school in spite of the fact they had no schooling prior to living with us. Monkey is growing into a beautiful young lady. Overall, we seem to have shifted to the new normal. We have added a new member to the family, his name is Mack. He is a good boy, but being part Newfoundland means he is going to be GIANT. He is only 8 months old at this writing. New days...New challenges.

Happy New Year. We have sort of figured out a new normal now, but the case is still open. Im making art again and reaching out for opportunities to speak and/or promote my books. Many things are still up in the air, but there is a cautious hope for the future for the time being. Thanks for checking in.

Its an ongoing case, so I cannot say much.
The last week 0f April, my wife and I took custody of three young children completely by surprise. At the time we thought it would only be a few weeks. But it looks now to be long term. The War Room is a children's room now so I had to pause recording the podcast indefinitely. Most of my art is packed and in storage. Im still squeezing in some art whenever I can (See pics) My first book will release as an AudioBook some time in the next few weeks. The Queen and I are still trying to get our minds around all this, but for now we are hopeful that these books take off. Its not just our lives to consider now, and our financial situation has changed...drastically. Not sure how often I will be able to pop in and write a blog entry now. Prayers and Positive thoughts appreciated.

Had a great time meeting up with some old college friends...and some great new friends at the "Christ in Comics Expo". It was hosted by Ohio Christian University. Thiis was our fist chance to unpack the ministry table. It was hard for us to pull all of my art out of HeadSpace. Such wonderful people up there. Jason is building an outstanding creative community in Great Lakes Mall. We're keeping a watchful eye on the event schedule up there and will likely return for a couple of events and set up.

My application went through and the LLC is registered. I have recorded two podcasts in the new format, but still sorting out issues with the mics. I will try to post them in the Video Clips tab above. I am setting up at a ComiCon event in Circleville on Saturday April 9th. (Mark Your Calendar!)

First, let me say "Hello" to my new visitors...

Hello

SO MUCH has happened since my last post. I quit my job in corrections. The Queen and I BOTH caught Covid. (I was vaccinated) On Monday Feb 14th I closed a deal for "First Church of Mars" to become an AudioBook. And I rollout the full "From The War Room" podcast starting next week if everything works out. (Video will be posted to YouTube. Audio is cross-posted almost everywhere but Apple. I have a Twitch channel set up for streaming.) I think the setup is pretty tight. (See Pic) Good things are happening.
Stay Tuned...

Things have been CRAZY! I finally quit my job at CBCF and started a new one this week. The Queen and I both are recovering from Covid19. We are regrouping for a couple weeks to decide rather or not to continue selling #pandemicheads through HeadSpace, or figure out something closer to home? Adam & Eve are sold. Here are a couple I still have left...

Happy (Almost) Halloween...
September 8th, 2021 = Had my first colonoscopy over the  holiday weekend. I agree with virtually everyone that the PREP is worst than the procedure. Im so glad I took the extra day to collect myself before I go back to work. I did distract myself a little and worked on some art. Chain Dreadlocks, The Third Eye, leaking open sores...just leaning into whatever takes shape. Heres a couple pics...enjoy.

Ahoy There...Matey!
August 18th, 2021 = Really took some time to add texture and purposeful paint scheme to this head. I do not have a name yet. Im exploring several different mediums on this lady. I really enjoy working with that "BLK 3.0: Blackest Black" paint! It turns into an almost negative space in the blacklight. I have some interesting ideas to explore for sure...

Greetings Traveler...
August 15th, 2021 = Back in 2020 when Covid19 first hit, I was actually quarantined two times and I experienced a serious amount of anxiety. I began creating art out of Styrofoam heads and just little things I found around the apartment. It was very helpful to me, and I had no intent to sell them.
At the suggestion of friends and family, I began to consider the possibility that they might be a blessing to others. So I started looking for a unique place to sell them. TODAY I dropped all the ones off I had completed (EXCEPT Harvey) to this awesome storefront in Great Lakes Mall..."HeadSpace". (See Pics) Stop in and say hi to those folks in there...and buy yourself a #pandemichead before everyone else gets one first.
   Thanks For Visiting...
